Frequently Asked Questions
What technical expertise is required to complete a project?
Very little expertise is needed, which is one of the attractive
benefits. Skills needed are basic Windows familiarity, as well
as a basic computer operation comfort level such as with Microsoft
Office. The skills of a subject matter expert as well as a training
background will certainly contribute to the training deliverable.
Can training be interactive?
Yes. The strength of Virtual Professor™ is delivering interactive
simulations of any other software. Users interact through hot
spots, text boxes, push buttons, check boxes, links, etc. Virtual
Professor™ easily simulates the use of any application without
being live.
Can you include Audio? What file Format?
Multi-media files, in a wide variety of formats, can be inserted
into any Virtual Professor™ training page. Flash, Wave, AVI, MP3
files are inserted by the author from their available file sources.
Virtual Professor™ does not record but allows the insertion into
the training.
How intuitive is the navigation of the end result or output
that the user views?
The user will have not difficulty navigating because each training
project or module allows for specific instructions for each page
of learning; the navigation buttons are clear and can be customized;
correct and incorrect feedback can be added for each page of training;
optional special instructions can be presented in several different
ways for each page of training.
How much customization can be done?
Virtual Professor™ is highly customizable. Color changes on the
browser and navigation buttons can be made; instructions are rich
text format; interaction requirements of the user can be obvious
or hidden; logos and custom icons can be inserted; pop-up boxes
can appear automatically or by prompt for each screen of training.
Can you import from other programs?
Virtual Professor™ allows interfacing with any application through
screen captures, insertions, cut and pasting and then overlaying
interaction onto the images. Virtual Professor™ is database-driven
open architecture application.
What is the format of training simulations? Can it create
a standalone file? HTML is the output that is delivered
either over the Web or via a static format such as a CD. Users
of the training need Internet Explorer 5.0+.
Where will the training reside?
All images reside on the web server at all times. Each page of
training is dynamically generated from the database. Please note:
you can also save the training as a static file to be published
to a CD.
What is the average file size of a typical presentation?
An average or typical page of Virtual Professor™ training is 15-30K.
If a typical training module is 10-15 screens, then its file size
would be in the neighborhood of 300+K. Thousands of training modules
can reside on a typical CD.
Will it adjust well to different screen settings and sizes?
The training that is being viewed will default to the settings
of the user/viewer. An author can customize the end user viewing
image, such as the corporate standard.
What is the quality of delivered training?
There is no loss of quality during compression. The picture image
is compressed to a PNG file format.
What platform is the completed training compatible with?
The viewer or user of the training must have Internet Explorer
5.0+. All output is HTML.
Are there any special programs needed by the user?
If Flash has been incorporated into the training, then the user/viewer
of the training would have to support Flash. Otherwise there are
no plug-ins needed.
